Shutdown, through MSNBC's eyes

I get about 5 minutes per week of MSNBC told through Tony Kornheiser's radio show, where Tony spouts off something he heard on Morning Joe that fits in his worldview, and David Aldridge and Jeanne McManus parrot what they heard Rachel Maddow say or they read in the Post, the New York Times, or The New Yorker.

Anyway, according to them, the open air memorials and parks around Washington (and the rest of the country) were barricaded because of Ted Cruz and Sarah Palin.  Yes, that's right, in the MSNBC world, these two (one not even an elected representative) have somehow gotten the National Park Service to erect barricades and put up orange cones to keep these places closed.  Because the optics of Republicans shutting down memorials and keeping WW2 vets out is so good for the party.

At the same time, they call us stupid.

You can not make this crap up.

Obamalympics - will be held in Rio instead

Due to widespread crime in Chicago, where honor roll students are beaten to death by unruly mobs, and criminal landlords refuse to improve living conditions in their state-sponsored slums, the Olympics for 2016 were awarded to Rio instead, where you expect these things to happen, Rio being the largest city in barely third-world Brazil.

If you've been sitting under a rock you may have missed that the United States sent a delegation of Chitown glitterati to include Oprah, Mayor Daley, Michelle Obama (you may know her better as "The First Lady") and the President of Chicago (and the United States, too), Barack H. Obama.

Many (including such smart right-wing observers as myself and Rush Limbaugh) assumed that Obama's presence in the delegation meant it was "in the bag," so to speak.  After all, if the top politicos of Chicago-style politics couldn't secure a victory with a group of crooks like the IOC, how did they rise to the top of Chicago's power structure?

Green "Czar" revealed as 9-11 Truther. Countdown to firing begins.

Today, our friend GatewayPundit revealed that Green Czar, the unelected, and unconfirmed by the Senate, Van Jones, previously outed as a Communist and previously caught on tape calling Republicans a$$holes (watch as the obviously friendly audience laughs along with him), is also a 9-11 Truther (caution: I think the Wikipedia entry gives these people a little too much credibility. They're fringe lunatics.).

You may know of the 9-11 Truthers. They believe that the Bush administration knew 9-11 was going to happen and allowed it to happen so they could go to war. These people are nuts. They are nuttier than the Right's birthers. The Truthers have to believe that the former President willfully allowed Americans to die, for whatever nefarious reasons. At least the Birthers don't think anyone was allowed to die so that Obama could fake being an American (for the record, I think the birthers are crazy, too, but not THIS crazy).

So, today on Fox News, Steve Hayes wondered, as of 7pm, after the story had been out 7 hours, why Jones hadn' t been dismissed, and Charles Krauthammer wondered whether the adminstration was just incompetent in its vetting process, or whether they allowed this guy to be chosen with knowledge of his wacked out views. Neither says much for the Obama administration.

Memo to CIA: STOP with the smoke blowing...

In the latest revelations against the CIA, we learn that interrogators of Abd al Rahim al-Nashiri (according to the 9-11 commission report, the mastermind of the attack on the U.S.S. Cole) not only BLEW SMOKE in his face, but smoked cigars!

The horror!

Rather than laughing at the Inspector General's representatives, "This interrogator said he would not do this again based on 'perceived criticism.'"

So, something that you could still experience first hand in bars in some more free parts of the country is considered an "Unauthorized or undocumented [interrogation] technique" to the CIA IG's office, and, I am sure also to Eric Holder.

I wonder if Barack Obama has ever blown smoke in anyone's face? He's sure blowing it up our @$$.

Ann Coulter on Carrie Prejean

Unless you've been under a rock this week, you know that the first runner up in the Miss USA pageant (owned by perpetually bankrupt Donald Trump), Miss California, Carrie Prejean, had the audacity to hope that her views of gay marriage (shared by the Liberal Messiah, Obama) would be accepted by Liberal America, personified by the vile, stupid, vapid, and disgusting Perez Hilton (not sure I really understand how this guy came to fame, but apparently, it has something to do with drawings of penises).

Anyway, Ann Coulter opines, as always with biting wit, in her column today on this.

The best passage from the Conservative Liberals Most Love to Hate:

"Christians aren't people who believe they are without sin; they're people who know they're sinners and are awestruck by God's grace in sending his only Son to take the punishment they deserve.

Too bad he didn't vote "Present"

You know, Barack 0bama should think before he speaks.

The latest DNC and 0 campaign talking point is that Sarah Palin was for the "Bridge to Nowhere" before she was against it.

As has been detailed, Palin cancelled the "Bridge" project after Congress released the money to be spent as the state saw fit, vice as "earmarked" (get it?) for the bridge. She did this over the objections of the AK Congressional delegation and it is for that she's lauded - taking on Ted Stevens and the AK pork crew.

Of course, when you're a Senator, as the other three candidates are, you have a record, and in this case, both 0bama and his running mate, Mr. Biden, voted FOR the bridge, twice. They voted for a bunch of other earmarks, as well.

McCain, on the other hand, was voting against the bridge.

So, on one hand, we have a Washington neophyte, schooled in the patronage ways of the Chicago political machine, passing some goodies to his Senate buddies; a lifetime Senator with hairplugs, doing the same, and on the other, we have McCain, opposing it, and Palin, taking her state's money, and spending it, instead of on the bridge, on more meaningful projects.

You tell me who's for change in this picture.
